A Food Sensitivity is a delayed inflammatory reaction to a specific food (or foods). The reaction itself may show up as one of many different symptoms and are different for each individual. We posted the story about when we were finally able to determine our oldest daughter’s skin issues through the use of Food Sensitivity Testing.
Examples of Food Sensitivities Symptoms can be:
- irritable bowel syndrome
- migrane headaches
- bloating
- indigestion
- eczema
- fatigue
- weight gain
- the inability to loose weight
- etc
The Advantage of Food Sensitivity Testing (FST)
The advantage of FST is simple. With a few drops of your blood, up to 200 foods can be tested at once. Compare this to an ‘elimination’ diet; where one by one, foods are eliminated until the culprit is found. This can be a very lengthly process.
Why is January a great time for FST?
During the month of December we tend to indulge in things that we may not ordinarily. If we look at holiday treats like cookies and cakes, they are typically made of different grains (like wheat), eggs and other ingredients that you may not normally consume on a regular basis. In order to get the very most out of FST, it is encouraged to eat everything and avoid nothing (there are extenuating circumstances however that you would discuss with Dr. Angela prior to the test).

A very Healthy and Happy 2016 to all of you!
